Editorial Message: Farewell and Welcome
With Volume 4 of COMPASS now published, Rachel and Hande are bidding a bittersweet farewell as managing editors.
Rachel joined the Department of Anthropology determined to bring COMPASS back to life, while Hande was fortunate enough to step into this role to meet the need. Reviving COMPASS in 2022 after its hiatus since 2018 and following a global pandemic was a significant responsibility—one we embraced wholeheartedly. We only hope we met your expectations in the process.
It has been an honor to work alongside such talented people and to witness the ideas and research that have come through our journal. Special thanks go to our peer reviewers for their hard work. And thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.
Over the past two years and three issues, we have worked hard to offer students opportunities for academic authorship and to help them develop their reviewing and editing skills. Through our work with this journal, we have grown as academics and found our own voices. Our goal has been to leave behind a journal that listens to what anthropology students have to say about our field.
We are proud of the progress COMPASS has made, and confident that we are leaving it in good hands. We are pleased to announce that three graduate students from the Department of Anthropology will take over our roles: Karlene Dunne, Uthman Khan, and Tristan Mula.
Thank you everyone!
