Vol. 2 No. 1 (2018): COMPASS: The Student Anthropology Journal of Alberta

This is the second issue of COMPASS: The Student Anthropology Journal of Alberta. This feature includes undergraduate, MA, and PhD research of students at the University of Alberta and spans archaeological, physical anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology-related themes.

Two of the articles in this issue stem from award-winning research that was presented at the 27^th Annual Richard Frucht Memorial Lecture Series and Student Conference (2018). Van Ankum (2018) was awarded the First Place Prize for the Undergraduate Podium Presentation Category, and Goldberg (2018) was awarded the First Place Prize for the Graduate Podium Presentation Category.

We would like to thank our staff and all submissions for their hard work and dedication allowing this issue to come to fruition.
