Author Biography

The Editor, University of Exeter

Deborah Osberg is Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Exeter, UK, and editor-in-chief of Complicity: An International Journal of Complexity and Education. Her work is strongly theoretical in orientation and influenced by an open-ended mode of analysis that is common to evolutionary theory, complexity theory and post-structural theory. In all her work she uses complexity theory together with post-structural and deconstructionist framings to explore the epistemological, political and ethical dimensions of educational practice. She has written a number of scholarly articles on complexity and education which appear in international academic journals and has contributed to the books Complexity Science and Society (2007, Radcliffe Publishing) and Complexity Theory and the Philosophy of Education (2008, Wiley-Blackwell). Her latest book, co-edited, with Gert Biesta, is entitled Complexity Theory and the Politics of Education (2010, Sense).
