Happy New Year!
Welcome to the Winter semester!
I'm here with a few updates:
First, submissions for the Winter 2025 issue are officially open! We welcome any and all interested students to send in their manuscripts. Prospective authors need not be enrolled in the HCR department, but submitted work must have some relevance to the disciplines of History, Classics, Religion, or Ancient/Medieval Studies. If you have questions about submissions or publication, we encourage you to reach out to our editorial team via email, the HCRUS discord, or visit our office (best arranged in advance to guarantee an editor is available to meet with you).
We would like to remind all interested authors to review our policies and standards for submissions prior to submitting their work. In particular, please review expectations for formatting and our new AI policy. Any submissions that do not conform to our standards, e.g. for document formatting, will be declined without review. Suspicions of undisclosed AI usage are also grounds for immediate rejection. All our policies and standards can be found in the Submissions tab, including a convenient checklist of expectations.
Now is an excellent time for students interested in reviewing to register! We are always welcoming new reviewers, but we encourage interested students to register by the end of January to ensure participation in the Winter issue.
Finally, regarding the Fall 2024 issue, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the delay in publication. We hope to conclude publication very soon. More updates forthcoming.
As always, feel free to contact us anytime via our email, constellations.journal@ualberta.ca, the HCRUS Discord, or in our office, Tory 2-75.
Cheers!
Jay, Senior Editor External
