Abstract

Featured artwork and accompanying Artist's Statement by Asser Saint-Val described as "A Function for alpha-MSH in fetal development and   the presence of an Alpha-MSH-like compound in nervous tissue", a mixed media on Masonite: using coffee, chocolate, acrylic, watercolor, house painting, and color pencils: 2013.

Author Biography

Asser Saint-Val

Assere Saint-Val is a multi-disciplinary artist, painter, sculptor, installation artist, graphic designer and musician, originally from Port-de-Paix, Haiti and moved to Florida in 1988. He graduated with a BFA (Honors) in painting (2002) and a BFA in Graphic Design (2004) from the New World School of the Arts, University of Florida. His art has bee exhibited in Florida, Washington, DC, New York and throughout the Caribbean. He has twice received the prestigious South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship Award, the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator Aword and four Community Grant Awards for the "Art in the Sky" Project, an interactive, multi-sensory public art installation in Miami.
