Abstract

Chapter 11: Transitions 4: The Grand Finale involving the entire cast brings the book to a close with a fictitious dance performance entitled "Tributes".

Author Biography

Michele Mowatt

Michele Mowatt  studied dancing with Mrs. Simpson since she was three years old. After completing high school in Jamaica, Michele was trained at the prestigious Froebel College in London, England, (which emphasized the development of the whole child). She returned to Jamaica to become a leader in the field of Early Childhood Education. In the 1970s Michele Mowatt  established the experimenta Jamaica House Basic School, and was its first Headmistress. In addition to teaching full time, Michele taught dancing at Mrs. Simpson's school in the afternoons. Much later Michele was the interim head of St Andrew's Preparatory School.

In life Mechele has played many key roles which include: educator, dance mistress, philanthropist , entrepreneur, and businesswoman. Her last formal ballet performance was in Giselle, as the Gatekeeper, Hilarion.
