The
inaugural Empirical
Studies in Libraries Summit (ESiLS)
will be held virtually on March 26, 2025. Organized by Dr. Logan Rath (SUNY
Brockport) and Dr. Laureen Cantwell-Jurkovic (Colorado Mesa University), ESiLS
is dedicated to showcasing and discussing the latest research and findings
happening in and about libraries. This summit aims to bring together
scholars, practitioners, and students who are engaged in empirical studies that
advance understandings of library practices, user behaviors, the impact of
libraries on their communities, and more.
Presenters
at the ESiLS Summit will have an opportunity to
publish papers based on their work in the journal Evidence Based Library
& Information Practice (EBLIP) for a feature to be included in
the journal’s December 2025 issue. Dr. Rath and Dr. Cantwell-Jurkovic will
serve as guest editors for the issue. Submissions will be due on June 1, 2025,
and may fall into one of the following categories: research article, review
article (both peer-reviewed sections), commentary, or "using evidence in
practice" article. All submissions must follow the EBLIP’s author
guidelines. (Note: Submission of a manuscript does
not guarantee that it will be accepted for publication.)
