Dear ESC authors, reviewers, and editors,

The University of Alberta Libraries, our journal hosting service, experienced an unexpected server outage on 11 December. If you uploaded any new submissions, reviews, or other content to the journal yesterday, please log in to your account and verify that the files you uploaded are there. If not, you may need to try uploading them again.

We apologise for this inconvenience.

We wish everyone a very happy holiday.

  • Editor's welcome to ESC: English Studies in Canada on OJS

Welcome to the home of ESC: English Studies in Canada on Open Journal Systems (OJS). ESC's operations and archive are housed in the Department of English and Writing Studies, Western University in London, Ontario, Canada.

ESC is available in Open Access under the restriction of a six-month moving wall.

You'll find the table of contents for our most recently available issue below; to find issues as far back as Volume 29, 2003, follow the links to the right, or click on "Archives," above.

As one of Canada's longest-running and widest-ranging scholarly journals, ESC has a legacy of publishing a rich variety of complex and thoughtful scholarship in the field of English Studies, including special issues on topics of note and concern to the community. Both new and established scholars from around the globe publish with us.

Recent figures show that, on average, an ESC article is downloaded every 6.6 minutes in over 95 countries around the world.

If you're a scholar in our field, we hope you'll consider submitting an article.

    Associate Professor, English
