EURS 2023 Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Raja Mita
Executive Director, Health Innovation
Alberta Innovates

"A Science and Technology Career Journey: Opportunities, Obstacles, and Inspiration"

 

Raja has been working at the intersection of health research and technology for more than 15 years. Throughout his career, he has been successful in building cross-sectoral partnerships between industry, academia, and government that accelerate health innovation to market. He currently serves as Executive Director, Health at Alberta Innovates, where he leads the development and management of the organization’s health care and life sciences innovation strategy. In this role, Raja and his team are responsible for supporting the integration of emerging technologies into health research and patient-centered care delivery to achieve both health and economic outcomes for Alberta. Raja is also a staunch supporter of his community, serving as a board member with two social not-for profits and he was recently named a recipient of the Top 40 under 40 award in Edmonton for his accomplishments and contributions. He also serves as an instructor in Business Strategy, Management, and Negotiations at MacEwan University. Raja is a proud alumni of the University of Alberta, where he graduated with a PhD in Oncology and an MBA in Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship.
