The association organizes a biennual conference (as part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences) which is a forum for discussion and cooperation in all aspects of Finno-Ugric studies in Canada: anthropology, archaeology, economics, ethnic studies, folklore, history, linguistics, literature, migration, music, political science, sociology, and other disciplines. Members of the association may submit a paper for the conference.
