The author comments on the proposed budget reduction to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Libraries for the fiscal year (FY) 2008. He states that the budget cuts in 2007 resulted to closures of some regional libraries and reduction of research services. He mentions that the American Library Association (ALA) issued a statement protesting the budget reduction. He asserts that the EPA failed to convince librarians about its plan to digitize its collections and improve library access.
