Abstract

The article focuses on the opposition of the American Chemical Society (ACT) to Open Access (OA) publishing. It says that ACS and other members of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) hired Eric Dezenhall to attack OA movement who eventually founded the Partnership for Research Integrity in Science and Medicine (PRISM). This group has made claims against OA, such as it undermines the peer review process. The author remarks that the ACS should stop getting advice from public relation (PR) flacks if it wants to be a party to OA discussions.
