Publishers and Librarians: New Dialogues in Challenging Times.

The author reflects on the importance of the continued improvement of the relationship between librarians and publishers. She cites open access publishing as a possible catalyst for publishers to reconsider their relationships with authors and librarians. She mentions the benefit of the participation of publishers and librarians in the 30th anniversary meeting of the Society for Scholarly Publishing in May 2008. She points out the increasing collaboration in the use of library advisory boards and librarian focus groups by publishers.
