Author Biographies

Jennifer Rowsell, Brock University

Jennifer Rowsell is a Canada Research Chair of Multiliteracies at Brock University's Faculty of Education. She is Director of the Centre for Research in Multiliteracies. She researches and writes in the areas of multimodality, multiliteracies, digital literacies, and New Literacy Studies.

Mastin Prinsloo, University of Cape Town

Mastin Prinsloo teaches and researches in Applied Language and Literacy Studies in the School of Education at the University of Cape Town. His co-edited books include The Social Uses of Literacy (1996), Literacies, Local, and Global (2008), and The Future of Literacy Studies (2009). His forthcoming books include Moving Words: Language, Literacy and Diversity to be published by Routledge and Educating for Diversity to be published by Palgrave. He recently co-edited special issues on digital literacies for Language and Education.

Zheng Zhang, The University of Western Ontario

Zheng Zhang is a PhD candidate at the University of Western Ontario. She researches on English academic writing, multimodal pedagogy, multiliteracies pedagogy in culturally and linguistically diverse contexts, and curriculum studies of international education and transnational education.
