Author Biographies

Mairi McDermott, University of Calgary

Mairi McDermott is an Assistant Professor in Curriculum and Learning at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary.  Her work concerns the material-discursive entanglements of voice, affect, culture, and pedagogy.  She has co-edited several books, including Politics of Anti-Racism Education: In Search of Strategies for Transformative Learning (2014), as well as Centering African Proverbs in Canadian Curriculum: Lesson Plans and Curriculum for Inclusive Education (in press), and Affect, Embodiment and Place in Critical Literacies: Assembling Theory and Practice (under contract).

Andrea Rosenfield

Andrea Rosenfield is a Master’s student in Educational Studies and a Research Assistant at Concordia University. Her research focuses on transnational students’ literacies.
