Author Biography

Christopher Hackett

Christopher Hackett is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at the University of Alberta. He holds a BA and an MA from the University of Manitoba. Among his academic awards are the 138 Past Imperfect James H. Gray Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Prairie History and the Margaret McWilliams Medal, both presented to him for his MA thesis. Mr. Hackett has published articles and presented papers on various aspects of Western Canadian history and edited A Bibliography of Local History in Manitoba, Second Edition. He was associate editor of the first edition of Past Imperfect. At present he is studying the relationship between the Anglo-Protestant Churches of Western Canada and the development of the social and political culture of the region between 1870 and 1914.
