Teacher education research draws a link between teachers’ access to resources and effect on planning practices, yet gaps exist in the study of how educator find, access, and use online information. This paper presents study findings from research that investigated the online information seeking behaviors of biology teachers and their perceptions of how their online activities influence their instructional practices. The often overlapping roles of teachers as both facilitators and recipients of information through formal and informal online social networks are discussed. Study findings have potential implications for school
library media specialists work with teachers.
