Abstract

This paper presents findings from a study in progress that addresses the paucity of research concerning which bibliographic, and particularly descriptive, elements should be included in a record so as to facilitate identification and retrieval of information. Data from both checklist and focus-group methodologies were compared to provide a client-oriented framework for assessing content in bibliographic records, and to highlight gaps between user preferences and the availability and presentation of elements in some. . .
