Instantiation: Toward a Theory

Abstract

The concept of “instantiation,” the phenomenon of realization in time, is emerging in knowledge organization. Studies have demonstrated some consistent theoretical parameters. Epistemological and content analysis provide a background for meta-analysis. The result points the way to lacunae in the understanding of instantiation, including flaws in the FRBR model.

Le concept « d’instanciation », le phénomène de réalisation dans le temps émerge dans l’organisation des connaissances. Les études ont démontré plusieurs paramètres théoriques cohérents. L’analyse épistémologique et l’analyse du contenu offrent une base pour la méta-analyse. Les résultats convergent sur la manière de combler les lacunes dans la compréhension de l’instanciation, incluant les insuffisances du modèle FRBR.
