Abstract

Knowledge organization systems can serve as gateways for human experience, mediating human interaction with knowledge. In this study of The Encyclopedia of Milwaukee, we see how concepts arise from literary warrant, but are mediated according to cultural warrant by curatorial activity, including social interaction among the interdisciplinary aggregate of authors.
