Deconstructing the Information Age in Information Literacy

Abstract

This presentation explores the role of the Information Age in Information Literacy. The Information Age asserts that the recent proliferation of information and communication technology has fundamentally altered our society. Librarians have responded to the Information Age in part through developing Information Literacy. This project critically examines the relationship between the two concepts.

Cette présentation explore le rôle de l'ère de l'information dans la maîtrise de l'information. L'ère de l'information se traduit par la récente prolifération des technologies de l'information et des communications qui ont fondamentalement altéré la société. Les bibliothécaires ont répondu à cet ère de l'information en partie en développant des techniques de maîtrise de l'information. Ce projet examine d'un point de vue critique le lien entre ces deux concepts.
