Author Biographies

Peter Cole

Dr. Peter Cole is a member of Xa’xsta (Douglas First Nation) one of the Stlatl’imx communities in British Columbia, and an Associate Professor of Aboriginal and Northern Studies, University College of the North, Manitoba. His teaching and research interests include orality, narrativity, Aboriginal education, curriculum theory, Aboriginalizing methodology, environmental thought, and environmental justice.

Pat O'Riley

Dr. Pat O’Riley is of Irish, Mohawk and French heritage, married into the Stl’atl’imx community and an Assistant Professor, School of Social Sciences, York University. Her teaching and research interests include Indigenizing research methodology, curriculum theory, poststructural theories/practices, community sustainability, environmental justice, Indigenous technologies, and technology education. Dr. Cole and Dr. O’Riley are currently working on a SSHRC-funded research project entitled, Stories from the land: Regenerating Lower Stl’atl’imx knowledge and practices.
