Abstract

This article incorporates experimental writing which combines interior monologue written in Trinidadian Creole and Standard English. As importantly, the article explores personal experiences and responses to issues of assessment, promotion and tenure in an American university within the larger context of the relevant literature.

Janice Fournillier, Georgia State University

Janice B. Fournillier is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Policy at Georgiea State University. She teaches graduate students qualitative research methodology courses. Her scholarship focuses on issues related to migration that involve studying and working as an academic insider/outsider from the perspective of a Black Caribbean "native" ethnographer.
