Undergraduate Research Symposium 2024

We are thrilled to announce the 4th Annual Eureka Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 30th, 2024!

This event will take place in the CCIS PCL Lounge and CCIS 1-440, and will include poster and oral presentations, networking, a free lunch, and a keynote speaker focused on undergraduate science. We have over $500 in awards to give away! This is an excellent opportunity to boost your CV and practice your presentation skills.

 EURS 2024 Keynote Speaker:

 Dr. Jonathan Schaeffer
 Department of Computing Science
 University of Alberta

 "Online Education: Revolution or Evolution?"

 

Dr. Jonathan Schaeffer is the Distinguished University Professor of Computing Science at the University of Alberta. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Science for six years. His research is in the area of artificial intelligence, with much of his work being demonstrated using games and puzzles. His checkers-playing program Chinook was the first computer to win a human world championship (1994), a feat recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records. He has helped develop superhuman programs at poker (two-player limit Texas Hold'em -- also in the Guinness Book of World Records). He is a founder of Onlea (onlea.org) that creates engaging online learning experiences.
