ISTL Was OA Before OA Was Cool.

The article discusses the benefits of Open Access (OA). According to the author, OA may not have much positive effect on libraries' bottom lines, but it does widen readership. It is noted that "Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship" (ISTL) has always been an OA publication intended to benefit library practitioners worldwide.

While ISTL has always been open access and authors have always retained the copyright of their papers without restrictions, articles in issues prior to no.75 were not licensed with Creative Commons licenses.
